.
Addressing Ghanaians on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the outgoing president, credited his administration’s strategic interventions for steering the economy towards a robust recovery.
“Our economy is rebounding impressively as demonstrated by the remarkable 7.2% growth achieved in Q3 of 2024, with the year’s overall growth rate projected at 6.8%,” the Akufo-Addo stated.
He further noted that these achievements go beyond statistics, emphasising their tangible impact on the lives of Ghanaians. “These are stories of lives changed and futures made brighter. But I also acknowledge the challenges we have faced. The road has not always been smooth, and there have been times of difficulty and sacrifice,” Akufo-Addo said.
The President also commended the resilience and unity of the Ghanaian people, especially reflecting on the hardships endured, including the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The post-COVID-19 years have tested us to our limit, but they also reminded us of who we are – a people who rise together no matter the odds,” he opined.
Akufo-Addo encouraged citizens to maintain hope and determination as the nation steps into 2025.
“May 2025 bring our families joy, peace, and abundant blessings. Let us step into the New Year with hope in our hearts and determination in our steps, knowing that together there’s nothing we cannot achieve,” he urged.
Akufo-Addo’s tenure ends on January 6, 2025. In his farewell remarks, he expressed gratitude to the people of Ghana for their support and resilience throughout his time in office.
