The facility is expected to provide students with skills in areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.
The President also announced the development of 20 STEM centres and 10 model STEM Senior High Schools nationwide, aimed at offering practical education with modern equipment. These initiatives are part of efforts to align education with the demands of a technology-driven world.
The Accra STEM Academy is equipped with laboratories, classrooms, and research facilities designed to support hands-on learning. According to the government, the academy will serve as a hub for innovation, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated the importance of STEM education in addressing global trends and positioning Ghana for future advancements.
"The world around us is changing rapidly. Technology is at the heart of this transformation, driving progress in education, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, industry, and every aspect of our lives. For Ghana to thrive in this modern era, we must equip our young people with the tools they need to succeed. STEM education is not a choice - it is a necessity," he said
He emphasised that equipping young people with critical skills in technology and science is essential for the nation's socioeconomic development.

The STEM-focused schools and centres being developed across the country are expected to prioritise disciplines such as coding, data science, and renewable energy, creating opportunities for students to participate in emerging industries.
