.
On January 7, 2025, when the military leader of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, stepped on stage to officially congratulate Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, he received the loudest applause from the crowd gathered.

The crowd erupted with cheers and excitement the moment Ghana’s Speaker, Alban Bagbin, introduced him.

Not only was he cheered on stage, but on social media, the hashtag #IbrahimTraoré also trended prominently.

In a video sighted by MyNewsGh.com, President Mahama, after the programme, was seen laughing and reiterating to the military leader that Ghanaians gave him the loudest applause.

“You can also see how popular Mr. President [Ibrahim Traoré] is in Ghana when he was introduced at the Black Star Square. He got the biggest applause,” President Mahama remarked.
