I brought him to Italy, but he left me for another woman – Lady shares her heartbreaking story
.
The conversation unfolded as the lady recounted her journey through marriage, sacrifice, and the unexpected betrayal that followed when she moved to Italy.
The story began in Nigeria, where the lady and her husband married. However, life soon led her to Italy in search of better opportunities.
“I married in Nigeria; then I came to Italy to hustle, to make something of myself,” she shared, reflecting on her efforts to build a better future.
She worked hard, using her resources to bring her husband over. “I brought him here, using my paper to invite him. He came, and we started our life together,” she said.
Unfortunately, the love and effort she invested were not returned in kind. Just a few weeks after her husband arrived in Italy, he filed for divorce and moved on with another woman. “I did everything to bring him here, but after just a few weeks, he divorced me and went with another woman,” she revealed with deep disappointment.
The shock and betrayal were evident in her voice as she described how she tried to make the marriage work despite the growing distance between them. “I was doing everything. I worked hard to make it work, but he didn’t care. He left me for someone else,” she said.
Despite the pain, the lady chose not to fight for a love that had slipped away.
“I didn’t want to fight him. I let him go and relaxed. If it’s not meant to be, you let it go,” she said, sharing her personal mantra for moving on from a painful situation. Though she was heartbroken, she came to terms with the fact that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, things just don’t work out.
As the conversation turned towards her current views on love and relationships, she revealed that her experience had left her disillusioned. “I don’t believe in men anymore,” she confessed. “For ten years, no man has come close. I don’t trust love anymore.”
Her heartache had made her sceptical of the intentions of others, and the love she once believed in had vanished. “I don’t believe love exists anymore,” she added, her voice heavy with the weight of her past.
The pain of betrayal was not the only challenge she faced. Her career, which once brought her pride and independence, had been something of a double-edged sword. While it helped her move on from the heartbreak, it also became a source of conflict in her marriage.
“My career, it destroyed my marriage. But it helped me move on,” she said, acknowledging how both work and personal life collided in ways that affected her emotionally.
Despite her trauma, she spoke with a sense of acceptance, understanding that while life moves forward, healing takes time.
“Life goes on, but you can forgive, you can’t forget,” she said, explaining how the scars of the past still lingered. “The trauma is something I’ll always live with, but I’ve learned to keep going.”
When asked if she would ever consider entering another relationship, she replied honestly, “I don’t know. Right now, I don’t believe in it anymore.”
The deep mistrust she had developed made her uncertain about the future, but one thing was clear—she had no interest in repeating the same mistakes. “I don’t want to remarry, I don’t want to be hurt again,” she said with finality.
