North Tongu chiefs applaud John Mahama for appointing Ablakwa as Minister of Foreign Affairs

The chiefs and residents of North Tongu have warmly congratulated President John Dramani Mahama for his significant victory in the 2024 presidential election, and on his return to office for another term.

In a statement, the chiefs expressed profound gratitude to President Mahama for appointing their Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

According to the chiefs, the people of North Tongu take great pride in this appointment, recognising the pivotal role their MP has played in advancing both the constituency and the nation.

The chiefs also stated that Ablakwa's contributions to North Tongu's development and to Ghana at large have been substantial.

They praised his leadership, integrity, loyalty, and dedication to public service, which have won him widespread trust and respect.

They also emphasised his commitment to his constituents and view his new position as foreign affairs minister as a reflection of his outstanding public service record.

The traditional leaders expressed a strong conviction that Okudzeto Ablakwa will continue to serve with the same level of excellence and integrity that has characterised his career.

"We, the chiefs and people of the North Tongu constituency, congratulate His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, for an emphatic win in the just-ended presidential election and on his assumption of another term as President of the Republic of Ghana.

"We wish to express our utmost appreciation and deepest gratitude to the President for the appointment of our son and Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency as Minister of Foreign Affairs," the statement concluded.
