The Office of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has once again dismissed a list circulating on social media purporting to announce ministerial appointments for the incoming administration.

This marks the second time in recent weeks that such claims have been categorically denied.

In a statement issued on Saturday, January 4, 2025, Special Aide Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated: “The said lists do not emanate from the office of the President-elect, and the public is encouraged to disregard same. Official channels will be used to communicate any such nominations to the public at the appropriate time.”

The denial follows similar clarification from the President-elect’s office in December 2024. At the time, Special Aide Joyce Bawah Mogtari described a similar list as “false and unauthorised,” urging Ghanaians to ignore it. She reiterated that only official announcements from the President-elect’s office should be considered credible.

Adding to the statement, a member of the Mahama Transition Team, Dr. Omane Boamah posted on Facebook: “Ignore fake news. The appointments of John Dramani Mahama do not leak!”

While a 10-member Transition Team, led by Julius Debrah, has been officially announced, the office of the President-elect emphasised that no ministerial or other appointments have been made public.

As misinformation continues to spread, the public is strongly advised to rely solely on verified updates from official channels associated with the President-elect’s office.
