Youth activist and private legal practitioner Oliver Barker Vormawor has urged the president of Ghana to revoke all 2000 mining licenses issued by the previous government. Local event listings

This call comes on the back of reports suggesting some groups are mining in forest reserves.

To Oliver Barker Vormawor, it is imperative that after these licenses are revoked, a moratorium is put on new ones that will be given.

He is of the view that it is time for a major reset in the country’s relationship with the environment.

His view expressed via social media read “The disaster of Nana Addo’s Regine, the worst this country has ever seen, manages to issue over 2000 mining licenses to cronies in 4 years. Including 103 after they lose election.

The President must revoke all those licences and put a moratorium on new licenses. If we can burn excavators we can revoke licenses.
