Dec 7 Elections: NAPO urges religious leaders to pray for the peace

.
The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has called on the clergy and imams to pray fervently for the peace of Ghana as the country prepares for the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

At a meeting with the clergy in the Ashanti Region on December2, he reaffirmed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s commitment to making them a key part of his governance, in alignment with the principles of inclusivity and national cohesion.

During the meeting, Dr Prempeh touted the importance of prayer for the nation’s peace and stability, noting, “Ghana is a country chosen by God to shine to the world, and while that is a great blessing, we must recognize that without prayer, evil can befall the country.”

He was grateful to them for their steadfast intercessory prayers for Ghana—prayers for peace to prevail during this election season and for the success of the NPP. As a party, he said they
humbly submit to the precepts of the Almighty and firmly believe in His sovereignty over the affairs of humankind.

He acknowledged the turbulent nature of the electioneering campaign and the issues that could potentially lead to chaos.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh also expressed excitement about the prophecies surrounding the upcoming elections, emphasizing that
the results will expose and separate fake prophets from those chosen by God.

He also engaged the Islamic clerics in the Ashanti Region, sharing Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to ensuring Ghana stays united. He reminded them that “the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a party founded on diversity, where hard work and competence are the only conditions precedent for progress.

NAPO said this has been consistently demonstrated, through its presidential ticket and dedication to uniting the nation.

He assured them of his unbridled loyalty to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he leads the transformative agenda for the country.

Dr Bawumia’s running mate said Ghana must never be divided along any lines—be it religious, ethnic, or otherwise—because true development transcends these divisions. We are one people, bound by a common destiny.

He said
a vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will ensure that Ghana stays united because he is an embodiment of same.
