A 32-year-old man, identified as Eric Adakanu, is in the custody of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command for allegedly killing his wife over accusations of infidelity.

The deceased, Ayisha Mumuni, also 32, succumbed to machete wounds inflicted on her.

According to a 3news.com report, Ayisha had travelled from Accra to spend the festive season with her elder brother at Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region. However, Eric reportedly persistently accused her of engaging in extramarital affairs.

“In one of such instances, the suspect, following heated exchanges with the deceased, fetched a machete from their room and attacked her, leading to the immediate death of the mother of three,” the portal explained.

Police sources revealed that the suspect attempted to escape after attacking the victim, but personnel from the Kasoa Divisional Police Command apprehended him.

Eric Adakanu is now in the custody of the Bawjiase District Police Command, assisting with investigations.
