Maadam Sarpong Kumankumah believes such a forum would foster inclusivity and leverage diverse perspectives to address the challenges confronting Ghana.
President Mahama, during his inauguration on Tuesday, January 7, mentioned his government’s commitment to creating opportunities for contributions toward the realisation of his “Resetting Ghana” agenda.
However, Nana Sarpong Kumankumah expressed concerns about the government’s current approach to ministerial responsibilities, citing inefficiencies and the lack of adequate oversight mechanisms.
Speaking to Citi News, Madam Sarpong Kumankumah issued a strong warning about the potential collapse of the president’s 24-hour economy if these challenges are not urgently addressed.
“If you ask me to support and you don’t give me a system that I can use to even give you the ideas I have and I have to now go and sit in some minister’s office, if the minister doesn’t believe in my idea, he will put it under a table. When you are in opposition, you have a lot of ideas and you see the loopholes.
“They should give us the authority and power to be able or some resources so that we can come up with solutions.”
