Otumfuo gave this charge when Prof. Mawutor paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Friday, January 24, to formally introduce himself and seek his blessings as he begins his tenure as Vice-Chancellor.
The visit also aimed at strengthening the long-standing relationship between UPSA and the Golden Stool, while exploring new opportunities for academic and institutional collaboration.
"As a product of UPSA, I know you are more than capable of handling your new role," the Asantehene said, adding, "I also believe that working under past Vice-Chancellors has adequately prepared you for the task ahead, and I am confident you will excel."
The Asantehene encouraged the new vice-chancellor to be diligent and results-driven, urging him to “Go and continue the good work that has positioned UPSA as one of the best universities in the country.
“Remain focused and do not be distracted. Embrace work hard, and improve upon the achievements of your predecessors."
Prof. Mawutor expressed his gratitude to the Asantehene for his support and words of encouragement.
He pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen the university’s reputation as a leading institution of higher learning in Ghana and beyond.
"UPSA has made remarkable progress over the years, and I am committed to building on this foundation to create more opportunities for students, faculty, and stakeholders," Prof. Mawutor assured the Asantehene.
