Mahama directs Lands Commission to halt sale of state lands

President John Dramani Mahama has ordered the immediate cessation of all activities related to the sale, lease, or processing of transactions involving state and public lands.

This directive, communicated by Dr Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President in a statement dated January 10, 2025, aims to safeguard these lands for the collective benefit of the citizenry and future generations.

The directive mandates that all ongoing and pending transactions must be halted without delay to facilitate a comprehensive review of the current framework governing the management of State and Public Lands.

The Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission has been requested to submit a detailed report of all recent and ongoing transactions concerning these lands to the Office of the President within 14 days of the communication.
