My focus is results, not drama - Ayariga counters Afenyo-Markin

.
Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has dismissed Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin's concerns that Ayariga's style of parliamentary discussions would make government business more difficult.

In a Monday, January 27 interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV's The Point of View, Ayariga characterized Afenyo-Markin's comments as overly dramatic and reiterated his commitment to ensuring that government operations are conducted efficiently.

“That is Afenyo-Markin; he likes drama. Sometimes he dramatizes things a bit more than people can tolerate, but that’s just him, and that’s how he functions,” Ayariga said.

He underlined that, as Majority Leader, he prioritizes outcomes over showmanship, particularly when it comes to approving and assigning the president's nominations.

“I receive all sorts of text messages and see all sorts of comments on social media: ‘Ah, why did you tolerate the man?’ I just smile and say, the question you should ask yourself is, how many ministers were approved today? My target is to assist the president in approving all his ministers,” Ayariga stated in a report by citinewsroom.com.

He emphasized that the effectiveness of his leadership should be judged by results, pointing to the progress made in processing and approving the president's nominees.

“When you get your approvals, you have won the argument. You win by the results and not by drama. So let’s focus on getting government business done. To tell you the truth, these are some of the fastest rates of ministerial approvals we have ever had. Go and check the record,” Ayariga added.
