IGP’s mother laid to rest
.
The ceremony drew people from all walks of life, including ministers of state, Members of Parliament, politicians across the political divide, traditional and Muslim leaders, as well as clergy from across the country.
Also in attendance were serving commanders of the Ghana Police Service, regional, divisional and district commanders, and several retired IGPs.
Rev. Lawrence Tetteh, who officiated the burial service, emphasised the need for Ghanaians to leave lasting legacies in whatever positions they occupy, so that future generations will remember them after they pass on.

He noted that such legacies include leading exemplary lives and committing to the development of one’s community and the nation at large.
Rev. Tetteh cautioned against the abuse of influence, stating that “people should not use their positions in society to antagonise or intimidate their subordinates, but instead help them overcome their shortcomings”.
He also preached at the thanksgiving service held the following day at Joy House of Peace Chapel International in Lashibi, near Tema.
He urged Ghanaians to commit their lives to God, their Creator, in order to receive salvation even after death.
Rev. Tetteh expressed gratitude to the late Madam Tawiah for giving birth to Mr Yohuno, describing the IGP as “selfless, humble, respectful and assiduous”.
He also thanked President John Mahama for appointing Mr Yohuno, making him the second Krobo citizen to become IGP after the late Mr E. R. T. Madjitey, who was both the first Ghanaian and the first Krobo to occupy the position.
In an emotional tribute, Mr Yohuno revealed that his mother was the first person to predict he would one day be appointed IGP, sadly passing away before witnessing his elevation.
He paid glowing tribute to her memory and prayed the “Omnipotent Lord grants her eternal rest in His bosom”.
Mr Yohuno acknowledged that his current position was largely due to his late mother’s guidance and wise counsel.
Other speakers at the thanksgiving service included Madam Irene Naa Torshie Addo, the immediate past Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, and Prophetess Salomey Menzo, leader of Joy House of Peace Chapel International.
President John Mahama and Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, sent funeral donations to IGP Yohuno through their representatives.
