EC suspends re-collation of election results at Tesano Police Training School

.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced a suspension of the re-collation process for Presidential and Parliamentary election results that was ongoing at the Tesano Police Training School.

This process had been initiated for constituencies whose collation did not adhere to the legal provisions of C.I. 127 or could not be completed on election day due to disruptions.

In a statement issued on Friday, December 13, the EC attributed the initial collation delays to interruptions caused by political party supporters on election day and subsequent days, which necessitated the relocation of the collation process.

The Tesano Police Training School was selected as the venue following consultations and an agreement with the Inspector General of Police and his team.

The Commission stated that political party agents were informed of the change in location and actively observed the re-collation process, which led to the successful collation and declaration of results for the Fanteakwa North, Akwatia, and Suhum constituencies on the previous day.

While no timeline has been provided for the resumption of the re-collation, the EC urged stakeholders to collaborate with the commission to ensure the completion of its mandate.
