National Security Task Force assures EC of security to continue re-collation

.
The Electoral Commission (EC) announced its intention to resume the collation of results from outstanding constituencies, which had been delayed due to security concerns.

The EC's Head of Training, Dr Serebour Quaicoe confirmed that the Commission had written to the police requesting security, but the response stated that safety could not be guaranteed, resulting in the postponement of the process.

Speaking at a press conference today, the Police's Director of Public Relations, ACP Grace Ansah Akrofi reassured the EC that the National Security Task Force (NSTF) had agreed to provide the necessary security. Both police and military personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of the re-collation process.

She also urged political parties to refrain from inciting their supporters to gather at collation centres, emphasising the importance of maintaining peace.
