The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is making unprecedented history in the Western Region.

In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page on Friday, December 7, 2024, he announced that the party has captured key parliamentary seats previously held by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Armah Kofi Buah, the NDC has successfully won the Kwesimintsim, Sekondi, Mpohor, Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Essikado-Ketan, Shama, and Ahanta West constituencies.

He emphasized the historic nature of these victories, describing them as a significant turning point in the region’s political landscape.

I can confirm that we have successfully annexed the following parliamentary seats from the NPP: Kwesimintsim Constituency, Sekondi Constituency, Mpohor Constituency, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, Essikado-Ketan Constituency, Shama Constituency, Ahanta West Constituency," he stated.

He further indicated that the NDC is leading in additional constituencies, pending final confirmation from the Electoral Commission, and urged party supporters to maintain their focus during the critical post-voting period to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.

We are also leading in other constituencies awaiting final confirmation. Let’s continue this momentum and remain laser-focused on the entire post-voting processes. Vigilance is paramount at this critical juncture
he added.

The 2024 elections were held across 276 constituencies in the country, with the process being largely peaceful. Pockets of violence, however, were recorded, with one person confirmed dead in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.

The EC has meanwhile urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as they execute their mandate of delivering a successful election.
