The Ranking Member of the committee,
Making these statements teasingly, Afenyo-Markin suggested that the exemplary conduct demonstrated by Armah-Kofi Buah as a lawmaker warranted a ministerial appointment from President
According to him, Armah-Kofi Buah, who also serves as the Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, should engage in fervent prayers for God to pave the way for him to receive what is rightfully due to him.
“Why are you acting this way? You are supposed to be nominated for your good conduct. Your nomination has delayed and you are not praying? If I were you, I wouldn't be coming here and be taking a fight with the Minority Leader.
“How would I pray for you? Can you leave here? Go and pray; your thing has delayed. All your colleagues have their names out, yours has delayed and you are still coming here to share power…,” he said, causing the entire room and members present to burst into laughter.
Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who was smiling throughout the moment responded, “I love to be here and I belong here.”
It will be recalled that the Effutu lawmaker boldly predicted in Parliament that he knew where some of the Majority MPs would be assigned when President Mahama started announcing his ministerial list.
Among the names mentioned by Afenyo-Markin, he predicted that Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah would be appointed as the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.
So far, he has accurately predicted several appointments, including Kwame Governs Agodzo as the Minister of Roads and Highways-designate, and Ahmed Ibrahim as the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs-designate.
