Mahama unveils seven-member team for economic reforms
.
The team, chaired by Dr. Ishmael Yamson, includes experts such as Dr. K.Y. Amoako, Professor John Gatsi, and Mohammed Samara, tasked with mapping Ghana’s path to economic recovery.
Speaking about the dialogue, Mahama explained, “This is a platform to confront our pressing challenges, find solutions, and reset Ghana’s economy for resilience and inclusiveness.”
The dialogue will focus on communicating the true state of the economy, shaping fiscal policies, and identifying key structural reforms.
Dr. Yamson stressed the urgency of their task. “We are here to chart a course that addresses Ghana’s economic difficulties and reflects the aspirations of its people. The stakes couldn’t be higher,” he said.
The committee has just four weeks to submit its report. Their work includes setting an agenda, identifying experts, and preparing policy recommendations.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the acting spokesperson for the presidency, added, “The communication strategy is crucial. Every Ghanaian deserves to understand what this dialogue means for their future.”
