Mahama’s justice call brings peace to election violence victims – Franklin Cudjoe

.
The President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for directing the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to investigate the deaths of eight Ghanaians during the 2020 and 2024 general elections.

In a statement issued on January 10, President Mahama’s Executive Secretary, Calistus Mahama, emphasized the need for justice to uphold accountability and bring closure to the victims’ families.

Reacting to the directive on Eyewitness News, Franklin Cudjoe lauded Mahama’s leadership and empathy, describing the move as a significant step toward national healing.

He criticized the previous administration for its lack of action, contrasting Mahama’s initiative with the silence of his predecessor.

“This is John and clearly speaking, this is what we need in a leader. To think that he is even thinking about the persons who died in 2020 is humane.

“The previous administration under which this whole thing happened, how many times did you hear the then-president talk about it? Just like the galamsey the man didn’t care about anything really.

“So, for me, I say that this act alone brings peace, and honour to the people who have lost their lives,” he stated.
