You were more NPP than some party members, so why the sudden switch? – Miracles Aboagye asks Prof. Gyampo

.
The Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has questioned the political stance of Professor Ransford Gyampo, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority.

According to Miracles Aboagye, Professor Gyampo was closer to the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government than many insiders within the party, making his recent alignment with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) surprising.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on March 10, 2025, Aboagye claimed that Professor Gyampo had direct access to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, frequently communicating with them via WhatsApp.

He expressed his shock over Gyampo’s decision to accept an appointment in President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, despite his previous proximity to the NPP.

"Why are we discussing a partisan person like Gyampo? I sat here and told you about Professor Gyampo's deep ties with the NDC.

“He shouldn’t come and explain anything. Who had more access to the NPP government than Professor Gyampo? Someone who could WhatsApp President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia directly, that was Professor Gyampo. He used to text them frequently. Ask him if he doesn’t have their numbers."

Aboagye suggested that Gyampo's past political engagements were for personal gain, questioning his sudden shift to the NDC.

“So, all the things he was doing, was it for favours? Why would he suddenly stop being an NPP sympathizer to accept an NDC government appointment?” he asked.

Meanwhile, Professor Gyampo has denied the allegations of being an NPP member.
