’Interest nkoaaa’ - NPP MP stings Prof. Kobby Mensah, Gyampo over appointments

.
The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah, has taken a swipe at Professor Kobby Mensah and Professor Ransford Gyampo following their appointments by President John Dramani Mahama as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited and the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, respectively.

Following the official announcement of the appointments, Adomako-Mensah took to his Facebook page on Thursday, January 30, 2025, to express his views on the country’s political landscape, highlighting the hypocrisy often displayed by certain individuals.

The lawmaker shared a screenshot of an old post by Prof. Kobby Mensah, a vocal critic of the previous Akufo-Addo-led government, in which he sought to refute claims that he had criticised the former government solely to secure a political appointment.

Prof. Mensah’s post further clarified that his consistent criticisms were not aimed at securing favor from politicians. He explained that this is simply how political marketing experts operate.

Sharing insights into the role of political marketing experts, he noted that their work involves strategizing, analyzing, and critiquing the actions of political stakeholders, including both politicians and voters.

In response to the post and the subsequent appointments, Adomako-Mensah described the development as a case of individuals, particularly critics, acting in their personal interests.

He linked Prof. Gyampo and Prof. Mensah’s appointments to a reward for their criticisms of the former government. Sarcastically offering his congratulations, Adomako-Mensah urged them to serve the nation and prioritize its interests above all else.
