Friends Beyond Politics: See how NAPO stormed Parliament to support Muntaka during vetting

.
Some people hold the view that politicians are enemies in real life because they do not share the same ideologies and are mostly seen on television or heard on the radio engaging in heated arguments in bids to defend their political parties and policies.

This often trickles down to supporters who are also seen exchanging diverging views both in person and on social media.

Matters get worse during the electioneering period, and timelines are always flooded with messages from political party supporters who often try to shine a light on their preferred candidates or party while talking ill about those on the other side.

However, these politicians, for whom supporters are willing to go to great lengths, are usually friends who eat from the same bowls and hang out regularly anytime they take a break from their political duties.

This was evident when the Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, was captured in the hall at Parliament during the vetting of Minister of Interior-designate, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka.

Adorned in a coffee brown kaftan, NAPO was seen beaming with smiles, shaking hands with the NDC MP, and hugging him tightly after his vetting.

He then positioned himself well for the group photograph with Muntaka and his supporters.

The Member of Parliament of Asawase and Minister of Interior-designate, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, was vetted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament following his nomination by President John Dramani Mahama, on Friday, January 24, 2025.

He answered questions pertaining to the security of the country, how he plans to ensure internal peace, and how he will deal with conflicts in the country.

President Mahama has already sworn in 12 ministers after they were approved by Parliament.

Four Regional Minister-designates have also been vetted by the Appointments Committee and are awaiting approval by Parliament.
