Square pegs in round holes don’t fit – Adam Bonaa on EOCO leadership
.

“You would have to take a very incompetent person to make some of the public statements she made,” Bonaa stated bluntly, referencing Maame Tiwaa’s controversial handling of the NAM1 case during her tenure as head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
He criticized her for overstepping her bounds in public statements regarding the legal proceedings against NAM1, the embattled CEO of Menzgold Ghana Limited.
“For instance, in the NAM1 case, she questioned what charges could be filed against him when it wasn’t her place to determine that.
That was for the Attorney General’s office. Such remarks from a public officer handling sensitive matters were completely out of line,” he emphasized.

Bonaa didn’t hold back in expressing his frustration about the larger implications of such appointments on Ghana’s institutions.
“Square pegs in round holes don’t fit. No matter how hard you push, it doesn’t work. Her appointment wasn’t about putting the right person in place; it was about satisfying political interests. This undermines the integrity of institutions like EOCO,” he stated.
